We must take the pledge and act as ONE

Let’s join forces to revitalize the KC Sunfresh Market at Linwood, located in the Linwood Shopping Center. These are critical times for our community. We will not revert to a time when our neighborhood lacked a full-service grocery store. We refuse to accept an unsafe, uncomfortable, and uninviting shopping experience. The future of our community is closely tied to the success of the KC Sunfresh Market. The economic implications of declining revenues and the potential emergence of a food desert are too significant to overlook. It’s time for action—not rhetoric. We need grassroots organizing to drive meaningful change.
We invite you to review, adopt, and implement this proposal. If this action plan isn’t suitable, we must quickly develop and execute an alternative. Given the urgency of our situation, the plan is straightforward and easy to implement. Over the next six months, we call on neighborhood associations and residents to show their support for a grocery operation that provides a safe, affordable, and welcoming shopping environment.
We believe that increased awareness and demand for safety at the Linwood Shopping Center will help stabilize the area and restore the grocery store as a trusted shopping destination. Support will be measured by pledges to shop at Sunfresh Market for the majority of your monthly food needs, averaging $400 per month.
Residents from the neighborhoods surrounding the Linwood Shopping Center—Santa Fe, Ivanhoe, Key Coalition, Oak Park, and those within a 3-mile radius—are encouraged to meet or exceed this level of commitment.
